It is with profound and heartfelt sorrow and also profound, heartfelt hope that we share the news that we plan to close our New York Edgar Cayce Center at the end of this month.

heart formed by hands sunsetAll planned programs in the Center will continue through June 24th.

As of June 25th, most or all programming will end, and we will concentrate on preparing to close the Center, with a goal of leaving by June 30th.

We are grateful beyond words to those of you who donated or offered monthly pledges in response to our e-newsletter of June 7th.

We are deeply moved and thankful for the messages we’ve received, for the people who expressed how much the Center has meant to them—and for the generous contributions given.

The recent contributions have not been enough to keep the Center open now—but will help us to pay Staff salaries and other expenses. We are extremely grateful to all our donors.

At this point, a miracle would be required to keep the Center open. We are open to a miracle but prepared to accept a new phase of our journey.

The Center may close but the A.R.E. of New York Community will continue.

Before our Center opened in 1997, there was a strong and active A.R.E. Community in New York.

We presented programs in rented spaces. Spiritual Growth Groups, such as the Prayers for Healing Group and A Search for God groups, met in homes and other locations throughout the City.

Today, there is also the possibility—one we didn’t have before 1997—of connecting through Facebook, Skype, podcasts and more.

So we begin a new phase of our Community’s life with faith, courage and hope.

Programs, Courses and Events

Two courses that are now in progress will continue in rented spaces. These are the Psychic Skills Certification Program taught by Lin Hunter, a year-long course—and the Intuitive Tarot course taught by Sylvia Chappell. A.R.E. of NY will confer certification for the Psychic Skills course. (Students, please contact the instructors for location information.)

We are looking at the possibilities of doing other programs, courses, Psychic Fairs, healing events and occasional fellowship events in rented spaces.

We hope to continue to offer British Spiritual Healer Malcolm Smith’s healing sessions in NYC on a periodic basis—at a location to be announced.

We are also looking at the new possibilities of offering programs, courses and readings online.

We plan to continue to offer membership benefits in terms of discounts on readings, healings, programs and courses.

However—all those who became Members in May will have their choice—to continue their membership or have their dues refunded. We will be contacting those new Members.

We are deeply grateful to all who have given so much in support of our Center.

Over the years, beginning in the days when we were preparing to open our Center, so many people gave of their time, skills, funds, prayers, dedication and love—first to bring our Center into being, and then to staff and support it.

It has been an extraordinary and beautiful achievement that we have maintained our Center in midtown Manhattan for over twenty years with minimal paid staff—and in that time transformed many people’s lives through the work of healing, spiritual growth, enlightenment and fellowship that blossomed in our Center.

Thank you so very much—to all who have supported the Center through volunteering, donating, memberships and prayers.

Please continue to keep our Community in prayer. And please feel free to contact us with your thoughts at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Remember that events at the Center are ON through June 24th. Upcoming events and cancelled events are listed below.

Our sincerest love and gratitude to all of you,

Lynne Salomon Miceli, Al DeMarco, Peter Goldbeck, Lin Hunter, Kev O’Kane, Betty DeCandia, Sylvia Chappell

To Manifest the Love of God in Service to Humanity

Without your generous help, our beautiful Center—that has served our City for 20 years—will close at the end of June.

praying hands sunlightOur Center was founded with high ideals and the hope that it would be a legacy—not only to seekers of the present but to future generations—bringing Light and healing to a City so much in need of both.

The Center has brought Light and healing and transformed many lives.

Now it will close—unless you help.

For our Center to thrive, we need about $35,000 a month.

Recently we’ve had shortfalls of about $15,000 a month. Board members have made up the difference, but that is not sustainable.

Our recent reorganization of Board and Center leadership was an effort to put the Center on a brighter path. We’ve seen signs of positive change—yet our finances haven’t improved to the level needed to sustain the Center.

Our Directors have plans for increasing income and decreasing our expenses—but the savings won’t come soon enough.

We’ve asked for monthly pledges from Community members to help sustain the Center—and some have responded generously—but not enough.

Your help now can make the difference:

  • Your generous donation would help us immediately.
  • A one-time pledge made by 6/15 (to be fulfilled by 6/29) can be made by phone or using a One Time Pledge Form.
  • Your monthly PLEDGE could help sustain the Center into the future.
  • Please join us in praying for the outcome which is for the highest and best good.

We need your support by June 15th. That’s when the final decision—to close or stay open—must be made.

If the Center is forced to close, donations given now will help to pay our staff and final bills. Monthly pledges will automatically terminate. Some ongoing courses will continue in other venues. Memberships purchased in May will be refunded.

Your gift can help to make a miracle! Please help keep the Light of the Cayce legacy shining in our City. Contributions of any size are welcome.

Thank you.

Light & Love,

woman hands receiving giving lightYour help is needed NOW to keep the New York Edgar Cayce Center here in our City.

Our Center has been sustained in New York City for over 20 years—by the generosity and dedication of our Members, Volunteers and Donors and by the grace of what Edgar Cayce called the Creative Forces.

The Center has been struggling for several months now. We can only stay open here in New York City with your generous help.

If the Center has been a place of learning and growth for you—

If you’ve found healing of body, mind or soul in the Center—

If experiences at our Center uplifted you, helped you recognize the Divine in yourself and others—

If you’ve found spiritual fellowship, a spiritual home at the Center…

Please help us keep the Center open in New York City for you and other seekers.

janice taylorFew things in life have the ability to directly change or affect our emotional state more than music. I have memories of my mother lifting me out of a fussy or upset state when I was a toddler, by rocking me as she toned a simple chant.

As she chanted, I would feel my breathing slow and my body let go of tension. I became mesmerized by the sound of the chant, as my vibration was drawn, like a magnet, to my mother’s prayerful state. To this day, I use music to relax, to meditate, and to take myself into a higher vibratory state.

We each have our own spiritual connection with music and sound. The Source that spoke through Edgar Cayce once even stated that God IS music.

Janice Taylor, vocalist for our benefit recital says, “I choose music that provides a profound, personal resonance as a channel for a higher power.” Her audiences report having deep, spiritual responses to her singing.

Whether you’re longing for a deeper spiritual connection, or just enjoy healing and uplifting spiritual music, please join us on May 6, at 4:00 p.m., and experience the beauty of sound, and Oneness with Spirit at our Benefit Recital with vocalist, Janice Taylor and pianist, Lee Tomboulian.

We thank Janice and Lee for generously donating their performances for this event—a benefit for our non-profit New York Edgar Cayce Center.
