You Are Invited:

Initial Meeting to Launch A.R.E. of NY’s First Online A Search for God Group
with Charles Davidson, facilitator

Tuesday, October 23, 7 – 8:30 pm FREE.

Join us online to meet like-minded seekers, learn more about the A Search for God group program, have your questions answered and confirm a date for our first official ASFG meeting.

A Search for God groups have transformed thousands of lives.

Charles Davidson writes: In 1931, a group of individuals around Edgar Cayce asked for readings on how to develop psychic abilities to expand the Cayce work. Cayce, the man, agreed to give the reading==but the Source that spoke through Cayce said that those requesting the reading needed to learn and grow spiritually and apply what they were learning in their lives. Psychic unfoldment, the Source said, would be a consequence of their spiritual growth. And their growth would empower others to also grow in their relationship with the Creative Forces.

These became known as the A Search for God readings. Guided by the Cayce Source, this first group transformed the readings into a set of lessons in two books—over a period of eleven years!

ASFG groups provide a step-by-step graceful path to spiritual awareness through a small group weekly meeting Group members learn to work with universal laws as they experiment with applying the ideas in the readings in daily life.

If you’re interested in growing gracefully into Oneness and improving your life and relationships, join us for this initial meeting and learn more about how an A Search for God group can change your life.

But please contact me by October 16th!

(if you want to join a group but can’t make the informational meeting, e-mail me anyway! We may start several groups.)

helen mawn2We were profoundly saddened to learn that our former Volunteer, Helen Mawn, made her transition on September 9th, after an illness.

You may remember Helen’s smiling face at the NY Edgar Cayce Center’s front desk. Often known as the "Mighty Mawn," Helen was a very special soul who brought love and dedication to her service as a Reception Volunteer and Purchasing Agent for the New York Edgar Cayce Center.

Each time we lose a friend or loved one, it reminds us of how precious life is and how important it is to have a Community to share with—and to celebrate life and love while we’re here.

A memorial gathering for HELEN MAWN is in the planning stages for October 28th at 1:30 pm. The venue has not yet been determined. Helen's friends would like to know how many people are likely to attend this event, in order to make plans to accommodate all who wish to come.

If you expect or hope to attend, please contact Amelia Darcy now: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Please keep Helen in your loving prayers for a smooth, joyful, peaceful journey.

"Yea, pray oft for those who have passed on. This is part of thy consciousness. It is well. For, God is God of the living. Those who have passed through God's other door are oft listening, listening for the voice of those they have loved in the earth...And the prayers of others that are still in the earth may ascend to the throne of God, and the angel of each entity stands before the throne to make intercession. Not as a physical throne, no; but that consciousness in which we may be so attuned that we become one with the whole in lending power and strength to each entity for whom ye speak and pray.”

big benThese are challenging times in the U.S. Our population is more polarized than it has been any time since the Civil War.

Trust – for our fellow Americans, our government and our institutions — seems to be breaking down.

Many of us are praying individually but it doesn’t seem to be enough.

What is the most powerful force we can align with to heal the soul of our nation?

Perhaps the time has come when we have to gather and activate our spiritual forces. collectively for the healing of our country.

How can we do this?

malcolm smith portraitYears ago, Malcolm Smith, British Spiritual Healer, told me about the SILENT MINUTE, observed each night in the United Kingdom during WW II.

Many Britons, he said, credited the winning of WW II to the silent minute.

Each night, at 9 pm, people in the U.K. would observe a minute of silence for meditation or prayer or whatever each individual believed in—for freedom and a just peace. For those who lived in London, the Silent Minute was observed during the 9 pm chiming of Big Ben.

"An anecdote emphasizes the profound power of the group meditation of the Silent Minute. In 1945 a British intelligence officer was interrogating a high Nazi official. He asked him why he thought Germany lost the war. His reply was, “During the war, you had a secret weapon for which we could find no counter measure, which we did not understand, but it was very powerful. It was associated with the striking of the Big Ben each evening. I believe you called it the ‘Silent Minute.’" (Wikipedia. See

We don't have a Big Ben to remind us, but a growing group of Americans, including many of our A.R.E. Community, have now committed to observing the Silent Minute here.

We believe we need, not just to work outwardly (although that is crucial) but to connect and employ our spiritual forces--each of us in whatever way we know, ACTING COLLECTIVELY – and sharing an intention for Justice, Peace and the Highest Good for the U.S. and the world.

We recommend keeping your Silent Minute prayer non-partisan. We all have our own ideas, but let’s pray in faith that God knows exactly how to bring about Peace, Justice and the Highest Good.

  • On the East Coast, we have committed to doing this at 9 pm
  • In Central Daylight time, 8 pm
  • Mountain Daylight time: 7 pm
  • Pacific Daylight Time: 6 pm
  • Hawaiian Time: 3 pm
  • In the U.K and France, the time is 2 am. (A challenging but excellent time for meditation and prayer.)

For those who are inclined to do this, let's make it a commitment!

We will make every effort to observe the Silent Minute every night – with prayer or meditation or your personal intention – for justice, peace and the Highest Good for our country and the world.

It's important to be consistent. BUT we're all human — so if you miss it or forget and then remember later, do your Silent Minute when you remember, if you can. And if you miss a night – or several nights – don't beat yourself up about it. Just get back into the flow as soon as you can.

When you're observing your Silent Minute, it's good to be aware of all the others doing it too--and join your intention with theirs.

This Silent Minute effort started in mid-July and already there are people participating all over the U.S. as well as in the U.K., France, Germany, Israel and India.

We thought it might be helpful – since this is an effort to generate a group consciousness or energy field – to have a FB group where participants can share our experiences with the Silent Minute and anything related. The group is completely optional. Find it here:

Please SHARE this idea with those you think would be interested.

"When there has been in the earth those groups that have sufficiently desired and sought peace, peace will begin. It must be within self."

(Photo of Big Ben above is by John Anstie, a participant in the Silent Minute in England.)

Over this past weekend, we vacated our space at 153 W. 27th Street. This was a sad and painful task, but it felt good to be among beloved friends while doing it.

We are deeply grateful to all the Volunteers who helped with packing, moving, cleaning and our moving sale.

We are also extremely grateful to those who agreed to store items from the Center in their homes for the future.

dove white backgroundIt is our hope and belief that a new New York Edgar Cayce Center will once again arise “from the ashes” of the old one day—in perfect, Divine timing.

Meanwhile, our A.R.E. of NY Community begins a new phase of our journey with courage, faith, hope—and gratitude—for all the experiences we have shared and to all of you who have supported our Work over the years and continue to do so.

Light & Love,

Lynne Salomon Miceli
