prayersforhealing2Are you looking for a better way? Our Center hosts a number of small groups—most organized by members, many inspired by the Cayce readings or like teachings—that welcome spiritual seekers from all walks of life. Whatever your background, meeting and sharing your path with others is a well-proven way to grow in awareness and application of spiritual principles.

For more than 80 years, ARE members have gathered in "A Search for God" study groups, to offer Prayers for Healing, to practice meditation and to explore their dreams together, as well as information from the Cayce readings on the Bible and the Book of Revelation. More recently, groups have been formed by volunteers from our community for mutual support in developing consciousness of abundance and prosperity, to awaken and raise our spiritual consciousness, and to study "A Course in Miracles."

You can experience all of these at our Center. These groups are open to all seekers. Facilitators donate their services and the Center donates space to make these groups accessible to all. Donations are gratefully accepted to defray Center costs.

Note: These are the usual meeting dates, times and facilitators, all subject to change. Please check under Latest News on the home page for any updates in scheduling or call (212) 691-7690 or group facilitators for updates.

Meditation Practice Group

meditationgroupTUESDAYS 6-7 PM

The Edgar Cayce readings support the practice of meditation as a foundation for spiritual growth. “Meditation” is the first step in the Search for God handbooks, on which all the material that follows is built. Group meditation is conducted primarily using methods described in the Cayce readings, and is followed by a short discussion of concerns, issues or problems participants may want to share about meditation in general or their meditation practice.

The Miracles Group

acourseinmiraclesSUNDAYS 4:30-6 PM

While different from the Cayce Readings in many respects, A Course In Miracles has a notable relationship with the ARE, as the scribes—Drs. Helen Schucman and William Thetford—shared it with Edgar Cayce's son Hugh Lynn years before its publication in the 1970s. His support was one of the significant milestones along the way for a teaching that has reached millions worldwide. Inspired by A Course in Miracles, participants of our "Miracles Group" gather to explore ACIM concepts and related materials.
